About Newman Students’ Union Advice Service.
Within the Students’ Union, we have a Student Voice and Advice Co-Ordinator who is here to support you through these processes and anything you may face whilst you are studying at University. You can meet with, email or make an appointment with our Co-Ordinator if you feel you need some support or guidance, and everything that is discussed is completely confidential and will not be discussed with anyone else without your permission.
We aim to provide students with the tools, advice, skills and support they need to thrive whilst studying with us, and to be able to deal with a variety of issues that may affect students studies.
Our advice service offers support on academic issues such as;
- Academic Integrity Cases
- Complaints
- Academic Appeals
- Support on the Extension and Mitigating Circumstances process.
Along with this, we provide representation and support throughout;
- Placement Review Meetings
- Fitness to Practices
- Fitness to Studies
- Student Disciplinaries.
You can find out more about these processes on our Advice Hub page.
For queries outside of these areas, we may signpost you to other relevant departments within the University, or we will signpost you to external organisations.
