Voting in the SU Elections opens at 9am on Monday 7th April until 5pm on Wednesday 9th April. The majority of voting is undertaken online by following link below, however the Union does have a digital voting station opposite Starbucks in the Main Atrium, which will be accessible from 9.30-5pm on the 7th, 8th & 9th April.

You can vote in one of 2 ways:
Online Voting
Voting Online is simple to do, follow these simple steps to ensure you get your say:
1 - Make sure you are logged into the Union Website using your University login details. The login can be found here:

Here you will be greeted by the voting pages. The images shown below are from a mock election, so don't worry if the positions or candidates don't look quite right. The voting page is shown below, when you see this please click VOTE NOW.

3 - You will be taken through to Voting - Read and agree to to the Terms & Conditions (or disagree and don't vote)
Here you will be asked to check that you agree to the terms and conditions and wish to vote. The screen will look like the one below. Click PROCEED to continue voting.

4 - You will now be able to see the positions you can vote for.
The next screen will list the positions you are eligible to place a vote for and will look like the screen below. Click on the posotion you would like to vote for by clicking VOTE.

5 - Now you can choose your candidates in preference order. If none of the candidates appeal you can always choose Re-Open Nominations. The ballot screen will look something like the one below:

Once you have chosen your preferences, your screen will look like the one below and you can press CAST VOTE to sublit your vote for that position:

6 - Confirm your vote.
Once you have pressed cast vote, you will be asked to confirm your vote. You can either press confirm or return to the abllot paper if you want to change your vote or if you have unused preferecnes to make. The screen will look like the one below:

7 - Repeat the Process for all positions. Once you have completed voting, you will see a screen similar to the one below. You have now completed voting in the SU Elections 2025.

Voting in Person
Alongside our online voting system, we will also have a ballot station set up opposite Starbucks in the Main Atrium where you can cast your vote. To do this you will simply need your student ID with you to cast your vote.
ONLY FULL MEMBERS OF NEWMAN STUDENTS’ UNION ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE IN THE SU ELECTIONS. DETAILS OF MEMBERSHIP CAN BE FOUND BY CLICKING HERE.
