Un-decided? Hear from Zoe Harrison, the current President about what being in this position has meant for her this year:
'My name is Zoe Harrison and I have been President of Newman Students' Union for the last 2 academic years. The main reason that I ran for the position was because I loved what the Students' Union stood for and wanted to be a voice for students and create change wherever possible. As a deaf student who struggled during my undergraduate degree, I wanted to make sure that I was someone that student's could come to and be a safe place for them to feel heard and seen.
Being President of Newman Students' Union has hands down been the best thing I have ever done. I have loved every second of the experience and have grown so much in the last 2 years. I have learnt new skills, I have loved learning more about the Higher Education sector and really found my passion. I will leave Newman Students' Union a better and more resilient person proud of all that we have achieved. I would encourage anyone who is thinking of it, to run for a leadership position as it was the best decision I have ever made.'
