Hi everyone, my name is Zoe Harrison your Students’ Union President. Some of you may already know me and know about the Students' Union here at Newman but I would like to formally welcome you back to Newman University. I know some of you may have returned already and some of you may be returning to us in the next few weeks, but eitherway we look forward to welcoming you back to our wondering community here at Newman.

My job as President is to make sure that your voice is heard whilst you are at Newman and that you have the best experience whilst you are here. Newman Students’ Union has loads of ways that you can get involved whilst you are at Newman such as events, campaigning on things that are most important to you, becoming an academic rep whether that is a course rep or a faculty rep, running in an election to become a Students’ Union officer, being on the committee or part of a society and much more.

As a Students' Union, our job is to arrange things for YOU. So over the next year, if you have anything that you would like to see during your time here, just pop into our office and lets see what we can achieve together! Whether its an event idea, a campaign you are passionate about or starting a society!

As some of you may know, we run Freshers' events every year. We are running a Freshers' Fortnight starting Monday 18th September - Friday 29th September. You can purchase a wristband which will get you into all of all of our events and these can be purchased by clicking here  or in our lovely Union office, located in the Atrium. Freshers' packs start at £25 so make sure to get your hands on them before Freshers' starts.

I can't wait to see you all again and to hopefully see as many of you as possible within your first few weeks here!
