Dr Emma Powell, Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Education is undertaking the huge challenge of running the London Marathon on April 27th . Emma is raising funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust which is a charity that is very close to her heart. CF is a genetic condition that causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and the digestive system. If affects more than 10,800 people in the UK and one in 25 of us carries the faulty gene, usually without knowing. Every penny raised will help to improve the lives of many children and adults with Cystic Fibrosis.
