Welcome to Newman Students' Union!
Newman Students' Union became a registered charity in 2011 with a Trustee Board and Constitution which governs the Union.
As soon as you enrol at Newman University – you are a member of Newman Students’ Union which that means you can get involved in everything we do. We are an independent organisation that exists for students and is led by students
The Trustee Board are responsible for the general governance, operations and finances of the charity, however these responsibilities for the most part are delegated to the Union Director.
The Officers of the Students' Union are elected through a student vote that takes place towards the end of each academic year to form the next year Executive Committee. There are 8 positions students can run for, 2 full-time positions and 6 part-time positions.
Alongside a Union Director, the Union has three full-time members of staff; the Student Voice & Governance Coordinator, the Student Voice and Advice Coordinator and the Student Communities Coordinator.
Newman Students' Union is here to make sure that you are supported whilst you are studying at Newman, provide opportunities for you to leave here with more than just a degree and be a safe space for you here at Newman!
