As a registered Charity, Newman Students' Union operates under its Constitution and Bye-Laws. Imagine this as the "rule book" for how the Students' Union manages itself. The Constitution and Bye Laws are approved by the Members, Board of Trustees and the Council of Birmimgham Newman University, and are also available on the Charity Commission website. The Union also prepares an annual report to the Charity Commission which deonstrates how it has operated for the year along with a copy the Union's financial accounts for the year.
In September 2024, the Union concluded a Governance Review and a new Consitution, Code of Conduct and Bye-Laws were passed into operation.
