The Trustee Board is responsible for directing the work of Newman Students' Union in the long term. The Board oversees our strategic plan and ensures that we are well run as a charity, including financial and legal security. Our Board is made up of a mixture of our two sabbatical officers, Student Trustees and External Trustees, who bring experience and knowledge from outside of the University. The Board is chaired by the Union President.
The Trustee Board have legal responsibility for ensuring that the Union manages its resources effectively and meets its charitable aims as set out in the Consitution. Annually the Trustees compile and present our Accounts and a Report to the Charity Commission. These documents demonstrate how the Union has performed financially and provides a narrative for how resources have been used, highlighting achievements across the year and plans for the future.
